Hey friends, just popping in to say hi and give you a little update on what's been going on in my world lately. Life has been full, in the best way, and I wanted to take a moment to catch you up before diving back into whatever comes next.
The biggest news on the teaching side is that I've officially wrapped up the AtHomeSongwriting website, the courses, and the community. It was a genuine labor of love, and I'm incredibly proud of what it became and the songwriters it helped along the way. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't also ready for a change. Sometimes you pour everything you have into something, and when it's run its course, the right move is to honor what it was and make space for what's next. That's where I'm at.
That said, I'm still very much in the teaching world. I'm continuing to teach with Berklee, and I've also been leading weekly workshops for Andrea Stolpe in her EMC Institute, which has been a really rewarding experience. Getting to work with songwriters in that setting every week keeps me sharp and connected to the craft in a way I genuinely love.
On the YouTube front, I just finished up a full video series walking through my 9 steps to write songs that hit. It felt great to get that content out into the world in one focused run, and now I'm taking a well-earned break from that too. If you haven't checked it out yet, go give it a watch. It's some of the most straightforward songwriting guidance I've put together.
Now for the music. Last month I released my album Me and a Piano, and honestly, that's exactly what it is. 11 songs, just me and a piano. No frills, no fuss. I think it's some of the best songwriting I've done, and I'm really proud of it. It's out now on all streaming platforms, so go give it a listen and let me know what you think.
And I'm not slowing down. I've got singles coming soon from a new album project I'm already deep into. AI is out here making perfect songs. I'm making human ones. That's the lane I'm in, and I love it.
Thanks for being here and for following along through all the different seasons of this thing.
