I’m now working on song number 48 in my journey of writing and recording 50 songs. I started this project back in the fall of 2023, and soon I’ll be selecting 12 songs to become my next album, Digital Masquerade. Some of you may have even caught a glimpse of the title track on my At-Home Songwriting YouTube channel, where I shared the process of writing and recording it.
It’s been a few years since I’ve really put together a larger, more intentional album release, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be back in that space. I’ve always loved the idea of albums—not just collections of songs, but artistic snapshots of where an artist is in life. Today people might call that an era, and let’s be honest—we’re living in a pretty wild era as a society. Digital Masquerade is my way of exploring and capturing what I’ve been feeling and thinking these past few years.
For a while, my focus was on teaching other songwriters, and while I’ve loved every bit of that, I realized I wasn’t really watering my own creative spirit. This album is me stepping back into being a recording artist, reconnecting with my own voice, and reminding myself that I still have something to say.
Right now, I’m not only finishing the songs but also designing a physical CD and planning my release strategy. Being an indie artist means juggling a lot—recording, designing, promoting, and now blogging too—but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This blog will be one of the places where I share updates, behind-the-scenes stories, and sneak peeks of the 50 songs. Some may make the album, and some may not—but you’ll get to hear pieces of the journey along the way.
Thanks for being here and supporting my music. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to share more with you soon.
